Privacy at the Saleha Bibi Foundation
Last updated: 15 October 2026
The Saleha Bibi Foundation shares Qur'an recitation, duas and a free Tajweed course in loving memory of Saleha Bibi Shariff. This page explains what information we keep about you, why we keep it and what you can do about it. We have tried to keep it short and plain.
Who we are. The Saleha Bibi Foundation. For anything about your data, email us at [email protected].
If you just visit the site
You don't need an account to watch, listen, read or take the course. We don't use cookies or adverts and we don't track you.
To see how many people visit and which pages and lessons they use, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't follow you around other websites and can't tell us who you are. We only ever see totals.
Some things are kept in your own browser so the site works the way you left it: your theme, the place you chose for prayer times and your course progress. They stay on your device. We can't see them and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
Videos come from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. When you do, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that video.
"Hear yourself" recordings in the course never leave your device. They are played back to you and then discarded. We never receive or store them.
Like every website, our host (Cloudflare) handles your device's address in order to deliver the pages. We don't use it to identify you.
If you create an account
An account is optional. It keeps your course progress in step across your devices.
What we keep:
- your email address
- if you sign in with Google, the basic details Google passes on: your name, your email address and a link to your profile picture (we use your first name to greet you on your progress page and don't use your picture)
- your course progress: which lessons you've reached and completed, your quiz scores, the days you practised and your chosen daily practice time
- that you confirmed you are 13 or older and the date you did
- your reminder choices: which reminders you've turned on (all are off unless you turn them on), the time you picked and your time zone, so they arrive at the right time
- if you turn on notifications, the address your browser gives us for sending them to that device
Why: to give you the account you asked for and keep your progress safe. If you turn reminders or the weekly summary on, we use your email address (and, if you allow it, notifications on your device) to send them. You can turn them off at any time and every reminder email will have an unsubscribe link.
What we never do: sell your data, share it for marketing or use it for advertising.
Where it's kept. Your account is stored with Supabase in their London data centre, so it stays in the UK. Supabase only holds it on our behalf. Sign-in and reminder emails are sent through Resend, from their data centre in Ireland. Notifications are delivered by your browser's own notification service, run by Google, Apple or Mozilla depending on your browser. If you sign in with Google, Google handles that step under its own privacy policy. Google's sign-in button only loads from Google after you tick the age box to sign in.
How long. Until you delete your account. If an account isn't used for 2 years, we delete it automatically, along with the progress saved in it.
Ages
Accounts are for people aged 13 and over. Anyone younger is welcome to use the whole course without an account, with progress kept on their own device. If we find that an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.
Your rights
You can see, correct or delete your data at any time. You can delete your account yourself, or download a copy of your progress, from "Account settings" in the course. That removes your sign-in and your saved progress straight away. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data or for anything else to do with it.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects your account, we'll tell you before it takes effect.
