Who this course is for
Starting from zero
You never learnt to read Arabic and want to begin with the alphabet.
Coming back to it
You learnt as a child but it has faded. This is a calm place to rebuild.
New to Islam
You want a clear start, explained in English, one small step at a time.
Reciting correctly
You can already read but want the rules of tajweed explained properly, so you recite the way it was taught.
No Arabic needed. If you can read this page, you can start.
By the end of Level 1 you will be able to
- Read every Arabic letter and say it from the right place, including the sounds English does not have
- Read short vowels, tanween, sukoon, shaddah and madd
- Apply the rules of noon and meem sakinah
- Stop correctly at the end of an ayah
- Read Al-Fatihah and the last three surahs with tajweed

Questions
Is it free?
Yes. The course is a Sadaqah Jariyah for our mother, so there is nothing to pay.
Do I have to sign in?
No. Everything works without an account. Signing in only saves your progress across devices and turns on reminders.
I can already read a little. Where should I start?
Start with Lesson 1 anyway. It is short and shows how the course works. After that, move quickly through anything you know until you reach something new.
Does this replace a teacher?
It gives you a strong, careful start. Reading to someone who knows tajweed is still the best way to check yourself, so if you can find a teacher, please do.
Is it suitable for children?
Children can learn with a parent beside them. Accounts are for ages 13 and over.
This course was developed as a Sadaqah Jariyah for our beloved mother
Saleha Bibi Shariff
Please remember her in your duas.
May Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.
